Garstang Town Centre

Lying in some of Lancashire’s most idyllic countryside, it’s an ancient town that has long been known for its historic architecture and thriving market.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, visitors could be forgiven at first glance for thinking of Garstang as a sleepy little Lancashire town.

Yet this small market town which is to be found standing on the River Wyre, the Lancaster canal and the West Coast mainline railway, and equidistant between Lancaster and Preston, is undergoing something of a revival, post pandemic.

With the town’s iconic Market Cross at the top, Garstang’s bustling weekly market is held on Thursdays and stretches along the High Street, with an array of stalls selling everything from plants, to clothes and household goods.
